In Prestigious Western Cape Rugby 7s Tournament
We are proud to announce that West Coast Sports Solutions (WCSS) has received a second official invitation to enter teams into the prestigious Western Cape Rugby 7s Tournament, one of the largest and most competitive school tournaments in the province!
Thanks to the strong partnership between Young Dynasty NPO and Piketberg Youth Sport Development (PYSD) NPO, WCSS will enter:
- Two Rugby Teams – U/15 and U/19
- Two Netball Teams – U/16 and U/18
(All matches played 7 minutes per side when competing locally)
This top-level event brings together the best school teams from across the Cape Peninsula. To ensure we meet the required standards and send our strongest possible teams, we are inviting rural schools across the West Coast to participate in our qualifier tournament, which will take place in Velddrif in mid-September.
The Velddrif 7s and Netball Competition
- Velddrif High School is already on board and helping us build momentum.
- Cash prizes are up for grabs for winning teams — as well as for their schools!
- Players selected from the Velddrif tournament, will go on to represent the West Coast District at the Cape Town tournament, taking place on:
Friday 26 September (Day 1)
Saturday 27 September (Day 2 for qualifying teams)
Please Note:
Even though your school stands a chance to walk away with cash prizes, individual players will also be scouted and selected to represent the West Coast District at the prestigious tournament in Cape Town. This is more than just a competition, it’s a platform for talent to be discovered and dreams to begin.
IF our teams qualify for Day 2, we are ready to make the return trip, and we are fully committed to helping our youth reach their full potential.
✨ But we cannot do this alone – It will take true teamwork between communities and businesses to make this dream a reality.
While the excitement is growing, the final dates and field availability in Velddrif are still awaiting confirmation by the Velddrif Sports Management Board. We remain hopeful and respectful of the decision process.
