West Coast Sports Solutions (WCSS) is proud to officially announce that our U/19 Rugby & Netball 7’s Tournament will take place on Saturday, 19 September 2026, at the Ronnie Louw Sports Grounds in Hopefield.
The tournament forms part of WCSS’s commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for young people across the West Coast District through sport.
Our partnership with the JBC Foundation & Rugby 7’s NPC began in 2023 when founder Russel discovered our rural organisation online. Since then, our relationship has continued to grow, creating exciting opportunities for young athletes from rural communities.
This year marks another important milestone.
The top-performing teams from the Hopefield tournament will earn the opportunity to compete against some of the strongest teams in the Western Cape at the Boland vs WP teams in Moorreesburg or Hopefield later in the season.
Giving Every Teenager a Second Chance
The tournament is open to boys and girls aged 17, 18, and 19, including teenagers who are no longer attending school.
Every young person’s story is different. Many leave school because of financial difficulties, family circumstances or challenges beyond their control. WCSS believes these young people should not lose the opportunity to develop their talents simply because life took a different path.
Our vision is simple:
Every teenager deserves a second chance.
Through rugby and netball, we hope to restore confidence, create opportunities and encourage healthy lifestyles while helping young people stay away from drugs, gangsterism and other negative influences.
Community Fundraising Has Begun
Hosting a quality sporting event requires the support of the entire community.
To help raise funds, WCSS has organised several fundraising events leading up to the tournament.

This dance promises to be an enjoyable evening while helping to raise much-needed funds for the tournament. Additional fundraising events will take place during August and September as we continue preparing for one of the biggest youth sporting events ever hosted by WCSS.
